The Paideia Academy Periodical Club with Mr. Averitt | The club will be publishing thoughtful pieces of writing written by students who delight in God’s gift of the written word. The writing scope includes reflections, poems, short stories, spiritual formation articles, and much more. Mr. Averitt will select an editor-in-chief, a senior editor, a junior editor, and a secretary. The majority of our time will be spent on planning, writing, and editing different writings before they are finally published. These pieces will released periodically through Substack, an online platform that allows content to be published for free. The subscription to the periodical is free, and it should be a fun way for fellow students, parents, and even prospective families to see our talented writers’ work on display!

For 9th -12th grade students

Mondays 3:30-4:30 in Westminster Hall

Cost: $30/ per 6-weeks session

Note: Students should have access to a computer and be able to use Google Docs. It is preferred that they bring a laptop or iPad, but it is not required.

The club will be divided up into 6-week sign-ups to accommodate other extra-curricular activities throughout the school year.

• First 6-weeks: Sept 16, 23, 30 & Oct 7,14, 21
• Second 6-weeks: Nov 4,11, 18 & Dec 2, 9, 16
• Third 6-weeks: Jan 13, 27 & Feb 3, 10 
• Fourth 6-weeks: Feb 24 & Mar 3,10,17, 24, 31
