Uniform Guidelines

Please refer to the Student/Parent Handbook for the practical and biblical rationale for the Student Dress Code & Uniform Policy. Students will wear uniforms on all school days unless otherwise specified. On assembly days and for other specified events, uniform items from the "Mandatory Items" list are required.

In addition to wearing an approved uniform, students must comply with the following General Uniform and Dress Code Guidelines:

  • Sweatshirts and sweaters must be worn with a collared shirt underneath.
  • Shirts are to be tucked in at all times. "Blousing" of shirts is not permitted.
  • Skirts and jumpers must be no more than 2" above the top of the kneecap
  • Pants, shorts, and skirts designed with belt loops are to be worn with an approved belt.
  • Clothing may be selected to permit reasonable growing room, but unreasonable extremes of over-sizing are not permitted.
  • Excessive jewelry and excessive make-up are not permitted.
  • Earrings and necklaces are not permitted on boys.
  • Jewelry in pierced body parts, with the exception of single earrings for girls, is not permitted.
  • All students must keep their hair neatly groomed and conservatively styled.
  • Outerwear coats and jackets are not to be worn in the building during the school day.
  • Any outlandish or distracting clothing, jewelry, make-up, hairstyle, or appearance will not be permitted.
  • Student apparel (e.g. Jean Day clothing) and school gear (e.g. backpacks, lunch containers, notebooks, and the like) shall not display any commercial slogans, product promotions, celebrity representations, or any pictures/cartoons of commercial characters.

Enforcement
The school faculty and headmaster will enforce the Uniform and Dress Code Policy. Interpretation and application of the Uniform and Dress Code standards will be the responsibility of the headmaster. Students not complying with this policy will be required to rectify their appearance immediately. Cheerful, consistent compliance is expected. Students who violate the Uniform and Dress Code Policy, either by action or by challenging and rebellious attitudes, will be subject to disciplinary actions.
